Justin curled up on a bench in the park, watching the children play. He remembered his years as a child and allowed himself a small smile. It wasn’t too long ago, really— but just long enough to be nostalgia. Sipping from the cup in his hands, the warmth of the tea spread through him.
It was a chilly day, but that never stopped anyone from going out. Justin played with the fringes of his scarf— his sister Calpurnia thought the raggedy old thing looked better with fringes. Smiling to himself, he got up, deciding to head for something to eat.
He did not expect, however, to run into a blonde teen that seemed to be in hysterics or something. Or maybe he was just hyper. He’d physically ran into him, dropping his cup of hot tea on the ground. He didn’t mind— he could get another.
“I’m sorry sir! Are you ok?”
Alfred had always been a rather strange kid, seeking attention, rushing into things, doing things that probably was not good for his health. And had always been hyper too. And today he just found himself full of energy, he wanted to run around. He tried to get his other friends to do it too, to focus on him and pay attention or at least give him their approval. Alfred was annoyed that he got none, but nevertheless the rushed and started his run.
If he had been careful, or at least watched where he was going. The blonde would have see the person he had just bumped into. “Woah!” he fall back on his butt and pouted in unhappiness. He looked up from the ground and gave a grin waving it off, “Yeah, I’m fine, just wasn’t looking where I was going.”
Justin smiled warmly, helping him up. “I’m sorry— I wasn’t paying attention.” He nodded, rubbing his hands a bit. “You don’t seem cold at all, sir.” He had such a kind, almost childish smile— like a baby being held in his mother’s arms in the warmth of a mother’s kitchen.
“Why is that, if I don’t seem rude for asking?” Justin’s bangs ruffled slightly in the wind, the rest of his hair tied in a ponytail. His silvery grey eyes were bright with pure curiosity and the hope of a new friend. (via luminaryfreedom)
